Frank Waters had better things to do than go into work on a Saturday, but he couldn’t find his wallet. Maybe it was at the office? His plans wouldn’t matter an hour later…he would be dead. Murdered at his office.

Detective Kass Minor is back with the Major Crimes Division and hopes that she and her husband, FBI Agent Robert Matthews, can balance the demands of two active law enforcement jobs and a baby daughter. Today is her first day back, and she is assigned to the Frank Waters murder investigation. As she and her newly assigned partner, Detective Ethan Nichols, begin their investigation, they find that Frank Waters is not loved by all. With suspects piling up but no clear evidence, this will not be an open and shut case.

Will Agent Matthews finally bring a serial killer to justice, or is he on another wild goose chase? Is it possible that both Minor and Matthews will bring the bad guy to justice or are they destined to be a couple obsessed with cold cases and fugitives?
