Mitchell is raising his niece Emily while his brother Mike “Cat” is in prison. But when Mike is finally released, murdered bodies start to pile up and all evidence points once again to Mike. Mitchell tries to protect Emily as more and more people are dragged into the apparent quest for vengeance. The storyline was engaging and strong and kept me turning the pages and I enjoyed the characters. This was a new author for me and I was fully submersed in his writing. I enjoyed all the twists and misdirection and I didn’t predict the ending!

So… I’d never heard of Anthony Bolton before but I’m so pleased to have been given this author. Cat’s got your tongue is a fast pace thriller that once you start you just have to finish! A tense and gritty storyline that has everything, murder, revenge, romance, betrayal, justice! You name it this book has it! An edge of the seat page turner that has jaw dropping moments that just leave you wondering what can possibly come next! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely read more of this author’s work! Very deserving of the 5 stars I’ve given it!

I really enjoyed this one. Anthony hits you right in the first chapter, and it’s wild to think this is a debut author because the pacing and confidence in the writing feel so solid. It has that gritty crime‑thriller energy, but it never tips into being too much.

I loved the twists and misdirections this book offered. This book makes you think. Every time I thought I had it figured out, Anthony shifted things just enough to keep me guessing.

And growing up in Philly made this even more fun for me. The Camden setting gave the whole story a familiar edge — that gritty corridor vibe that feels real and adds to the mood.

Even with all the intensity, there are some genuinely funny moments sprinkled in between Mitch and his daughter (niece) that break the tension and gives the book a nice balance.

Overall, it’s a fast, twisty, crime‑driven read with just the right mix of grit, mystery, and unexpected humor. For a debut, it’s impressive — and I had a great time with it.

How far will someone go for revenge?

I admit I first got this book from noticing the beautiful sprayed edges that the author was advertising. It sat on the shelf, patiently waiting for its time. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. The characters come to life on the page and I felt like I was right in the middle of every gritty, grizzly scene. I felt like one of the detectives on the trail, so I will be submitting my application to the police academy later this week.

If you like a tense, action packed thrill ride, then you will want to grab a copy of this book. Just don't let Cat get your tongue.
