The Glass Prison

a Rapunzel Retelling

Slow BurnForced ProximityMagic System
For twenty-three years, Rapunzel has lived inside a tower of glass.

Nyx calls it protection. She says the world would exploit Rapunzel’s rare magic and that only the tower can keep her safe. But sanctuary should not require locked doors and a loving mother should not grow younger by feeding on her daughter’s power.

When Prince Sebastian hears Rapunzel singing across the hills, he recognizes the sound of someone desperate to be found. Reaching her means crossing an ancient witch, defying a kingdom built on the control of magical people, and convincing a woman raised behind glass that freedom can be real.

But escaping the tower is only the beginning.

Beyond its walls waits a world eager to claim Rapunzel’s power for itself. To remain free, she must learn whom to trust, decide what love looks like when it does not demand possession, and become strong enough to open more than her own cage.

The Glass Prison is an adult dark fantasy romance and reimagining of Rapunzel featuring forbidden magic, a determined prince, an imprisoned heroine who refuses to be rescued quietly, explicit intimacy, and a complete, hard-won romantic HEA.

Inside Story
Oct 28, 2026

I am not usually one to read a fantasy genre but I had to give this a shot since it was written by one of my favorite authors and I am so happy I did! Rapunzel and her story has always been a great one for me and this retelling had me hooked. Read it all in one sitting. The love between Sebastian and Repunzel, the way her biological parents always stayed around for her, the spicy scenes were just the right amount of spice and omg it was just phenomenal and the writing style was on par and flowed like a perfect river.
