OUT. OF. ORDER.
A Disorganized Poetic Diary
OUT. OF. ORDER. - A Disorganized Poetic Diary is an unfiltered collection of free-verse poetry dealing with trauma, mental health, motherhood, identity, relationships, anger, faith, grief, and the difficult process of learning how to be yourself again.
The poems in this book are not meant to be a neat story. They jump between emotions, memories, contradictions, and moments of what the author feels like is clarity inside her own head - the reason for this being that healing is never linear and neither is the mind.
In the pages of this book are thoughts that are difficult to say out loud: anger that refuses to disappear no matter the avenues you try, grieving losing pieces of yourself through trauma and motherhood, struggling to reconcile motherhood with your own perceived identity, the weight of memories you wish you could forget, and small moments that make continuing this crazy life worthwhile.
Some pages are messy. Some are angry. Some heartbreaking. Some hopeful.
And some, simply honest.
OUT. OF. ORDER. is a glimpse inside the author's mind and her attempt to try to make sense of everything at once - it's a poetic diary meant for anyone who has ever felt too much, thought too much, or wondered whether something was wrong with the way they view and participate in the world.
Because sometimes the most honest way to tell a story is out of order.
