Fatal Fitting
A Lethal Obsession Story
Danielle FearWelcome to Lethal Obsession, a multi-author collection pulse-pounding thriller series where obsession turns deadly and secrets refuse to stay buried. Each story dives into the dark side of obsession—where admiration blurs into control, trust becomes a weapon, and one wrong choice can cost everything. With relentless suspense, shocking twists, and high-stakes danger, Lethal Obsession proves that some fixations are impossible to escape—and even harder to survive.
Iris is exactly what every employer wants, reliable, friendly, and invisible.
Working in a quiet lingerie shop tucked inside a fading shopping mall, she has spent months earning trust, learning routines, and watching people more closely than they realise. Because Iris isn't just selling confidence. She's studying it.
When women start going missing, no one connects the dots. Not at first. After all, the mall is full of strangers passing through. Faces that blur and lives that don't linger.
But Iris isn't the only one paying attention. Across the corridor, Eiralynne has been watching too. And she's been waiting.
As suspicion tightens and past secrets begin to surface, Iris finds herself caught in a web she never saw forming, one that leads back further than she ever imagined… and closer to home than she's ready to face.
Because some patterns don't disappear. They evolve.
And sometimes, the most dangerous thing in the room… is the person who understands you.

Fatal Fitting by Danielle Fear is a chilling, fast-paced psychological thriller that proves a story doesn’t need a high page count to deliver a massive impact.
With short, punchy chapters, this is a dark and intense dive into a lethal obsession. Despite its brevity, the narrative is thick with suspense from the very first page, leading to a conclusion that is entirely unexpected. The story feels unsettlingly realistic, adding a layer of genuine dread to an already gripping plot.
It is impressive that Danielle Fear managed to pack enough suspense and a totally unexpected conclusion into under 100 pages to make you swear off fitting rooms for a while. Novella feels "too realistic," because the author tapped into those everyday vulnerabilities we don't usually think about—like the privacy of a changing room.
It is a stark reminder to be careful where you shop—because this could very well be your last fitting. A solid 4-star "scary" read that will make you think twice before entering a dressing room alone. How about doing all your clothes shopping online from now on? Stay safe!

There were a few parts where I found myself wondering, "Is the author implying what I think she's implying?" That kind of subtle ambiguity feels typical of this author, and it works well to build the atmosphere. It is an engaging thriller that executes its premise without dragging on. I highly recommend this story if you want a short read that is a bit darker than your typical thriller.

A story from the Lethal Obsession collection
My rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is definitely a lethal obsession story, I could not put this book down, an intriguing fast-paced short story that attracted my attention from page one.
Working in a lingerie shop in a shopping mall, Iris was the perfect store assistant, polite and welcome, always watching, studying people and their behaviour, and routines, learning and gaining their confidence.
Iris wasn't only selling lingerie, she had tiis craving something more, something sinister.
Women started to go missing, and there is no leads back, well not at first, but someone else has been looking at behaviours and routines, from the store across the passage Eiralynne has been watching, does she know!!
Fatal Fitting is an exciting and tense story, I certainly could not see it panning out the way it did, a totally unexpected conclusion, Danielle gave nothing away in the lead up to a sudden shocking reveal.
This book is thrilling and addictive, the suspense builds up as the story progresses.

Iris is calm, helpful but forgettable which, as it turns out, is exactly the problem. However the way she watches people is where the real tension lives, and it builds so gradually you don’t even realize how uneasy it’s gotten until it’s too late.
Then there’s Eiralynne, watching right back, and suddenly it feels like everyone is in on something except you. The story plays out like a silent standoff, full of small moments that feel way bigger than they should.
And listen… I will not be trying on clothes in any department store in the near future. Not happening. I don’t need that kind of stress while holding a pair of jeans, lingerie or even a hat for that matter.
Also, Danielle Fear, I mean this respectfully, but I’m going to need to know your whereabouts when people start going missing. These details? A little too vivid. I’m not saying anything, I’m just keeping my eye on you.
This was creepy, smart, and quietly unsettling in a way that sticks with you. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this author, from a safe distance… in a well-lit room… not trying on clothes. 👀
