Wow!!! What a brilliant novel this is, although its not my usual genre of reading, this one pulled me in from the beginning. I was hooked.....
The Broken Queen is an incredibly dark enemy to lovers romance, an emotional rollercoaster.
Lars the King, Mafia boss, drug baron and trafficker is a monster, even his daughter Raven can't escape his brutal abuse and torture, claiming she is too weak to be Queen, he has to break her, to fall in line with him in his brutal and illegal activities.
Slade, Raven's one and only true love, they were forced apart and slade possessed great anger towards Lars and was determined to bring down and end the reign of King Lars and his crime ring.
Lars is forcing an arranged marriage on Raven to Zeke a monster to own her, to do and inflict whatever he wishes to her. A punishment of pain and suffering, if she refuses to abide by his demands.
Raven is not sure about trusting Slade as his plan to overthrow Lars seems to be throwing her into the lions den, by pushing her to go through with the wedding and wondering what their endgame is. She has her own plan to end the nightmare, bring down the King her father, and escape to freedom.
As Raven is held captive by her father, I was completely held captivated by this powerful storyline, the exceptionally strong characters, and amazing visual settings.
A story full of shocks and twists it will have you emotionally overwhelmed by the traumatic events handed out to Raven.
I absolutely loved this gripping thriller and have the need to read book 2.
