The Darkness That Binds Us by Jessica Huntley is the second book in The Darkness Series.
Wow, what an exciting rollercoaster ride filled with unexpected twists that left me breathless! The same mystery, new characters, and even deeper secrets that even Jordan and Brooke can't unravel.
I was concerned that there might be a new storyline and new characters, but fortunately, the storyline is connected to the first book, allowing us to follow events 5 years later. My heart sank when I learned that Amber had passed away. I had hoped for a happy ending for Amber and Jordan.
Once again, the transitions between different time periods were smooth and easy to follow. The new characters fit in perfectly and added extra mystery to the story!
Cherry Hollow was meant to be a fresh start for Emma, Linda, and their two children, Alex and Febe. Everything seemed smooth until rumours about Cherry Hollow's dark legend started to affect their lives.
Jordan and Brooke are the last two of the original five friends. They don't believe that Amber took her own life, so they are ready to face their previous demons to find the truth. A good place to start is Amber's old house.
The epilogue astonished me and left me in awe... Wow!
