Another great read by this author. Billie's uncertain journey of discovering where the blame lies for a 30-year-old cold case was entertaining and had added intensity because of the small town setting. I loved the claustrophobic feeling of her getting close to the truth and the danger that brought to her life.

This was my Adopt an Author read for April! I love doing these as it gives me a chance to find authors and genre’s- this month we follow Billie who makes a living as a content creator talking about old murders, not solving them, just telling you about them, giving you facts, names, etc! Then someone decides they want her to solve a 30 yr old murder from her hometown and that’s when the threats start! Can she even do this? She’s not a detective, she doesn’t solve crimes, how can she keep her family safe? Follow along to see and watch for a twist towards the end😉😉

Billie Wiley has made a living doing true crime investigation content online. She spends her days tracking down the best stories and following up on the most interesting leads. One day, an anonymous commenter tells her she should investigate the Culverton killings. Culverton just happens to be where her parents live. Small world, right? The killings occurred in 1995 and were never solved, so the case has gone very cold. As Billie dives deeper and deeper into the mystery, it's obvious someone is trying to guide her to a specific conclusion, but who and why? Billie soon realizes it's more than just content that is at stake as her family and friends find themselves in the cross hairs of danger. Will Billie be able to solve the case or will she become just another statistic in a very dark and very cold case?
I knew from the first page that this book was going to pull me in. I felt like I was with Billie every step of the way as she tried to uncover the real secrets and solve the Culverton killings before it's too late. I even had to let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. Every twist is neck breaking and everyone is a suspect. I even suspected one of the character's dogs at one point. It's just that good.
If you're looking for something quick, fun, and totally gripping then this is the story for you. Just be careful who you trust.
