Finding Dad
A Novel
Meeting “the one” and trying to start a family sends Bridget Olson on a search for the father she’s never met.
Bridget finally has a boyfriend she can count on, and she’s ready to build a life with Leo. But first there’s the not-so-simple matter of her father, who owes Bridget some answers: Why did he abandon her pregnant mother? Has he ever wondered about his daughter? Does he regret being absent from her life for thirty-plus years?
On the hunt for information about her dad, Bridget devises a scheme that could unintentionally destroy any chance of a relationship with the woman she believes is her sister. And keeping her questionable actions secret from Leo places their future at risk.
To heal old wounds, Bridget puts everything on the line, including her hard-earned sobriety. As her obsession grows, Bridget's plot starts to unravel. Can she fill the void she's felt since childhood without losing Leo? Or will Bridget go too far?
Finding Dad is a fast-paced novel for fans of complicated main characters, family drama, a healthy dose of romance, loyal besties, and unexpected twists.

A heartfelt story of a woman’s struggle with abandonment. The book takes you through her journey, flicking back and forth to childhood, teenage years and the memories she recalls from her past. I really wanted to find out what happens. A good read.

Bridget Olson is ready to build a future with Leo and start a family, but she still wants answers about the father she’s never known. Why did he leave her pregnant mother? Has he ever wondered about Bridget? Does he regret missing more than thirty years of her life?
Her search leads her to a woman she believes may be her sister, but Bridget’s choices could ruin any chance of a relationship. The deeper she digs, the more she risks both her future with Leo and her hard-won sobriety.
Finding Dad is a fast-paced story about family secrets, abandonment, romance, friendship, recovery, and the messy ways we try to fill the gaps left by the past.

This book has a strong premise and plenty of emotional conflict. Bridget’s search for her father raises questions about identity, family, forgiveness, and whether the truth can really heal old wounds. I especially enjoyed these themes and the blend of family drama, romance, friendship, sobriety, and secrets.
My biggest struggle was Bridget’s decision-making. I understood her need for answers, but her impulsiveness often made it difficult for me to connect with her. I kept wishing she would be more honest and think through the consequences of her actions.
I also wanted more depth in some relationships, and a few emotional moments felt rushed. While the pacing made for a quick read, some scenes could have benefited from additional development.
Overall, this didn’t fully work for me, but readers who enjoy messy family drama, complicated characters, relationship tension, and unexpected twists may find a lot to enjoy.
