The Sleepy Hollow Incident
The Complete Gothic Tale
Where dark romance becomes damnation—and salvation comes with a blood price.
In the winter of 1997, a dying woman, a desperate man, and an ancient force converge in the shadow-drowned woods of Sleepy Hollow.
When romance novelist Marc Saduj watches Lori Francon slip toward death after a horrific car crash, he does the unthinkable: he bargains with the Man in Black, a being older than legend and hungrier than hell. Lori lives—but the cost tears a hole in reality itself.
Now Marc isolates in a brooding mansion in Sleepy Hollow’s western woods, tormented by visions, violent blackouts, and the presence whispering behind every mirror. Back on Long Island, Lori rebuilds her life—until the mutilated bodies begin to appear. Detective Stephen Carver follows a trail of medieval cruelty, occult ritual, and psychological decay… all pointing straight at Marc.
But the truth is far more monstrous than murder.
What rises in Sleepy Hollow is not just a demon’s return—it’s the awakening of a cosmic inheritance, one powerful enough to fracture the boundary between worlds. As possession tightens its grip and a celestial gateway threatens to tear open, Lori races back into the nightmare to confront the man she loves—and the entity wearing his skin.
When someone trades their soul to save your life…what are you willing to sacrifice to save theirs?

I had a hard time engaging with this book at the beginning. It is 4 books in one, but one continuous story. I read "book one" and took a break because I just wasn't connected. I'm glad I came back to it. Each "book" only got better. This is a very dark story about good and evil. Towards the end I had very little hope for humanity. This was not a book that I binge read, but slowly digested over time.

I didn’t realize at first that this was actually four books in one, but after finishing them all, I can’t imagine reading them any other way. The stories build on each other in a way that makes the full experience feel much more immersive and complete.
This is a true horror collection—packed with the kind of blood and gore that fans of the genre will appreciate. It doesn’t hold back, and that intensity is part of what makes it so engaging. At the same time, it’s not just shock value; the writing is filled with rich detail that brings each scene vividly to life.
I was initially drawn to this book because of my love for the Sleepy Hollow story and my interest in exploring another eerie take on that setting. What I found went far beyond my expectations. The atmosphere is genuinely unsettling, and the book delivers a level of suspense and fear that really stands out.
One of the strongest aspects is the cast of characters. There are many of them, but each plays a meaningful role, and their stories come together in a satisfying way by the end. That interconnectedness adds depth and keeps you invested throughout all four parts. If you’re looking for something dark, detailed, and genuinely scary, this collection is definitely worth picking up.

What was that??? You fall in love with it. Then you’ll get crushed. I thought this was a full on horror (coz i didnt really read the blurb, that’s me). It was majority on romance. Though, I didn’t hated it for it. It carried me into falling in love in their special kind of way. It was true. It was no deception. But why??? Why did it have to be that way??? Where’s the next book???

The Sleepy Hollow Incident by P.D. Alleva. For the first time, all four books of The Sleepy Hollow Incident are collected in this complete omnibus edition—along with an exclusive, never-before-released epilogue that reveals how the horrors of Sleepy Hollow ignite the next chapter in PD Alleva’s Dominion of Shadows series. Perfect for fans of The Haunting of Hill House, The Witching Hour, and dark romance with claws.
From the first moment I started “The Sleepy Hollow Incident: The Complete Gothic Tale!” I was completely enthralled by this gothic, eerie story. I could not turn away or close my eyes during the horrifying events that began on the first page.
This book brought out so many emotions in me, ranging from anger, sadness, fear, and even shock. When I tried to picture this world, I kept seeing one blanketed in a dense, dark fog that veiled the land and all the buildings, both day and night. To be honest, this really reminded me of movies & TV shows like Stranger Things, Dark Shadows, The Mist, The Fog, and even It, with the mist coating everything.
This was the first omnibus by P.D. Alleva that I have read; in fact, this is the first book by P.D. that I have read, and I found his descriptions vivid, making it easy to picture everything as if I were right there standing in the middle of the world he’s created. As Marc described the world and everything around him, I felt as though I could feel, smell, and touch it all, witnessing everything right next to Marc. I could feel the horror the characters were feeling. P.D. Alleva’s writing is amazing, and I am blown away.
P.D. Alleva has given us this dark tale that is foreboding and unsettling, in a world that no one would ever want to live in, yet at the same time the life-like descriptions make you feel like you have left the comfort of where you’re reading and are right in the middle of the story itself.
As soon as I started this book, I had a hard time putting it down; I had to force myself to stop at night to get any sleep. I was completely enthralled and entranced, eager to see how the story would progress and end. I have to say that this was such a petrifying story.
One of the main reasons I found myself really drawn to this book was how much I love Sleepy Hollow and all the different stories told about this small town. But what I found in these pages was far beyond what I had ever imagined. The storyline, plot, subplots, and atmosphere knit together to create a genuinely unsettling feeling, and P.D. Alleva delivered a high level of suspense, with twists and turns that make this book stand out in my mind.
One of the strongest aspects of this book is the full cast of primary and secondary characters. We have a large cast, but I loved the way each character had a consequential role. P.D. Alleva did a great job of making sure that each character was fleshed out, continued to grow throughout the story, and had a stunning arc. I adored the way all the characters' stories were interconnected and came together beautifully by the end.
The way P.D. wrote interconnected stories that all perfectly merge adds depth and keeps you invested and hooked throughout all four parts of this omnibus.
P.D. Alleva has given us a true horror collection filled with blood and gore that any fan of this genre will truly appreciate. He never once tries to hold back, and the intensity he packs into this book is what makes it so horrifyingly addictive and enthralling. He does not write this book just for the shock value; his writing is filled with rich, stunning detail that you can’t help but feel brings every scene you read vividly to life.
If you love a great horror read, it’s dark, detailed, and truly certifiably scary. “The Sleepy Hollow Incident: The Complete Gothic Tale!” is truly worth picking up for any reader who loves a great horror read.

This was a dark Gothic horror told from many povs . It has so many different elements include sacrifice.

Atmosphere is insane. Gothic dread that stressed me out - it gets darker and more twisted with every book. Multiple POVs that actually work, and Alleva’s prose flows like sin. It’s brutal. Torture, possession, suicide mentions, body horror that made me flinch. Also bleak as hell. Not for cozy readers.
Beautiful, unhinged, worth all the emotional damage. Read all four if you want horror that haunts you and dread that creeps in and latches on.

I enjoyed this! It's The Complete Gothic Tale because it's all 4 books in one. It's not a series, but one continous story. Marc gives is soul to the man in black to save his fiance Lori from dying. Now the man in black, a demon and his faithful servant Wren seek to open the door to Hell, using Marc as the demon's host body. Torturing and sacrificing victims to release Hell on Earth and change humanity forever.

A Gothic Descent Worth Every Blood-Soaked Page
P.D. Alleva doesn’t just tell a horror story here. He pulls you straight into the dark woods of Sleepy Hollow and keeps you there until the very last, devastating page.
It starts with a desperate act of love: a man bargains with the Man in Black to save a dying woman. From there, the story grows into something bigger and more terrifying than a simple deal with a demon. Alleva raises the stakes from personal tragedy to cosmic disaster, and the way he weaves romantic sacrifice with real fear sets this book apart from typical horror stories. The central question—what would you give up for someone who traded their soul for you?—echoes through every chapter.
Marc Saduj is a deeply troubled protagonist, and watching him slowly unravel in that gloomy mansion is unsettling. The visions, blackouts, and the presence behind the mirrors show how effectively Alleva creates an atmosphere that gets under your skin. At the same time, Detective Carver’s investigation into medieval ritualistic killings gives the story a fast-paced thriller feel that keeps you reading as the supernatural horror intensifies. It’s rare to find a book that works so well as both a crime story and a gothic nightmare.
Lori’s story is the emotional core of the book. When she goes back into the nightmare to face the man she loves and the thing pretending to be him, the ending feels both intense and deserved.
Bringing all four books together into one smooth story was the right choice. This way, the story flows as it should, building tension without forced pauses. The exclusive epilogue that hints at the Dominion of Shadows series is a perfect and chilling way to finish.
If you enjoy the fear in The Haunting of Hill House, the dark magic of The Witching Hour, and romance with a dangerous edge, you should read this book. Alleva has created a powerful story about forbidden love, ancient evil, and the cost of redemption that stays with you long after you finish.
