Ok Ms. Graham, maybe this wasn’t the best read for me when I’m having a rough week mentally 🤣 ok kidding. Or am I? Because this book definitely got inside my head.
This was the type of book that you could never trust what you were reading. The combination of mental illness, manipulation and religion that this psychological thriller portrayed was the perfect cocktail that kept me glued to the pages. So many moments I thought I had things figured out, just to realize I was only questioning things some more.
Creepy, unsettling and psychologically twisted. With an ending that leaves you asking “wth just happened?”

This was a triller about a teenage girl who's magical powers were overlooked and written off as mental issues . Lena was locked away in a mental hospital because she heard voices . All that changes once she meets Rose and Leroy .

I was really intrigued by the premise of this book. I didn't know if Lena had powers or if this was just a crazy cult. I thought I had it all figured out until the end and now I'm confused again (which is why I deducted from my rating. I like a clear cut ending.) Overall this book really held my attention and I'd definitely recommend it!

Rachel Graham gives us everything we need in this book to get to know Lena and to connect with her. Every interaction is another window into Lena’s mind and a chance for us to try to see if Lena really is who Rose says she is. The story pulls you through up to the end when Rachel whips the rug from under you and you question everything. I’m still thinking about it!
I found this to be a nicely paced book that made me look forward to finding out Lena’s story. I listened to the audiobook and I always love it when authors read their own book. They know right where to add inflections and the real motivations behind the characters to bring them to life.

This book had me hooked from the very beginning! The storyline has you following Lena a teenage girl who's whole life has been stuck in a mental hospital and told shes crazy. But not everything is what it seems and trust me the plot twist hits hard and has you questioning everything you read and trying to decipher what was reality and what was all made up! I loved the narration told from Lena's perspective and her personality throughout the book ! I definitely didn't see the ending coming or how it was going to have me questioning the whole book!

Being inside Lena's head was equal parts heartbreaking and unsettling. The psych ward setting, the voices, the religious group, the constant uncertainty. It all came together to create a story that kept me guessing from beginning to end.
Not every twist landed perfectly for me, but I was completely invested and couldn't stop turning the pages

Absolutely gripping, original, and suspense-filled from start to finish. This is expert-level storytelling. Lena is a young lady living in a mental health facility. Voices taunt her from within.
Everyone seems to know what's best for her, but she longs for some semblance of normality. Surely she can have that if she can just leave this facility? Get away from these doctors and nurses. Do they know best? Should Lena tell them what they want to hear? Will they even listen?
A religious group makes contact, claiming that her apparent psychosis is a divine gift. They want to help her. Can Lena trust them? Can she trust her own mind to cut through the voices to guide her to the right decisions?
This is a storyline like no other that keeps you guessing until the very end. You think you know which way it's going, but do you? A definite, unquestionable 5⭐'s. I loved it!

This is one of those days where I wish I were a writer only so I could give this book the review it deserves. Buckle up for this book, because it’s a wild ride. This is a story of Lena who struggles with mental illness and is placed in a psychiatric institution. Plagued with the voices in her head, Lena is just looking for some peace and the longing to be with people who love her. Out of the blue one day, Lena gets some visitors. They are a religious organization and believe her gift is special. I won’t go into any more detail because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. This is a fast paced thriller, and the ending will leave your jaw on the floor.
Also love the nod to John Marrs in the book. The content warning about British spelling in the beginning is hilarious. I listen to the audio version of this book and read along with the Kindle version. I really love the narrator. I must’ve missed in the beginning, but was shocked in the end when I found out it was also the author can’t recommend this book enough!

But, we don't know and I think there maybe could have been slightly more to the ending (even if the author didn't want to give more hints, which I understand) Lena could have thought of ways she could try to tell what really happened. Just something to give the ending a little more closure.
If you are still wondering if the top at the end of Inception is spinning (and it has only driven you crazy in a good way) this book might be for you.
