IT WAS NOT THE SAME SILENCE

Ravenna, AD 70.

A pregnant woman is deliberately denied water. No one needs to strike her. A closed door and the decision to do nothing are enough.

Her death should have ended there.

Instead, its consequences reach across centuries, touching four lives: Mara, Ettore, Benedetto, and Hanzhang. Each encounters a different part of a past that refuses to remain buried.

It Was Not the Same Silence is a work of historical literary fiction with a metaphysical mystery at its heart. Moving between different eras and places, the novel explores memory, moral responsibility, and the consequences of human choices.

A slow-burning, atmospheric story for readers who appreciate morally complex characters, interconnected lives, and mysteries that unfold gradually.

Volume I of an ongoing series.
