Dark, gritty, and packed with tension from start to finish-this one pulled me in fast. The world is harsh and unforgiving, with a city barely surviving under a ruthless council while an eerie Dragon Mist creeps closer, bringing sickness and fear with it. The stakes feel real, and you can't help but feel the desperation in every choice Stratos Bree makes.

What really stood out to me was the emotional core.

Beneath all the danger and chaos, this is a story about love, survival, and how far someone will go to protect their family. Stratos isn't perfect, but that's what makes his journey hit harder-he's raw, determined, and willing to risk everything.

The pacing kept me hooked, though there were a few moments where I wanted just a bit more depth or clarity in the world-building. Still, it didn't take away from the overall intensity and intrigue.

If you're into dark fantasy with high stakes, creeping dread, and a strong emotional drive, this is definitely worth picking up
