I enjoyed the mayhem that ensued in this story for three friends who took something that didn't belong to them. With a gradual decay of their friendship, they begin to turn on each other, and the pressure heightens when they realise they aren't the only ones who know what they found.
While the ending wasn't my favourite, I liked the additional twist at the end. It's another solid story by an author I love to read, and I look forward to checking out more!

This was a great and twisty story. The best friends that head to a stage unit that they didn’t know existed. Upon sorting through it they found a lot of money and a very long dead man. This money will help them out big time. So they leave the body, take the money. But someone was watching and now they’re being blackmailed. This had me on the edge of my seat. I was so invested in this one. Loved the twists and turns in this one. A really great read.

This one had me hooked! Three best friends, a hidden key, over £100,000 in cash, and a dead body hiding in a storage unit... yeah, things were definitely about to get messy.
I really liked how the story slowly chipped away at the friendship between Mel, Liv, and Jennie. The more pressure they came under, the more secrets started coming out, and suddenly you're questioning who can actually be trusted. The tension kept building as their situation spiraled further and further out of control.
There were plenty of twists, secrets, and betrayals to keep me guessing, and I definitely had my suspicions about what was really going on. The whole "how far would you go to protect yourself?" aspect made this one especially interesting.
A solid psychological thriller with a great premise, plenty of suspense, and enough secrets to keep me turning the pages.

After starting this one I literally could not put it down, it hooks you in from the very first chapter and doesn’t let go . A story of friendship which is tested to the max once secrets that have been hidden for years come to light along with a discovery that that morally tests the three friends, do they do what’s right or what they think is right for them and their future. A gripping page Turner with so many unpredictable twists right up to the very last chapter!

Finders Keepers
~Jessica Huntley
Finders Keepers by Jessica Huntley hands three best friends a key that opens a door to moral dilemmas, buried secrets, and deception, then challenges them to make choices they swear they never would.
Mel, Liv, and Jennie have been best friends since childhood, their bond seemingly unbreakable. The three work alongside each other in Mel's antique restoration business, but business is struggling. When Mel's mum passes away, she's left to sort through a house full of stuff. Picture professional hoarder here. While examining a vase that has obviously been sitting untouched for quite some time, judging by the layers of dust, a set of keys falls out. Mel has no idea what they could be for, but a tag attached to them reads "Mason's Storage."
After a quick internet search, Mel discovers the location of a long-abandoned storage facility, and the three friends decide to investigate.
Behind the door are a few pieces of furniture, a suitcase, and a trunk. Inside the suitcase, tucked among men's clothing, the women find over £100,000 in cash. All three are facing money struggles in one way or another, and suddenly they are faced with the choice we all swear we would never make.
They take the money.
But money isn't the only surprise waiting for them. Inside the trunk is a body that has clearly been there for quite some time, fully clothed and still sporting a gold Rolex watch.
Leaving the corpse behind, the women soon begin receiving messages from someone who knows more than they're telling. Threats against the women and their families escalate, and what follows is a test of friendship, loyalty, and just how much a secret can be buried before it starts clawing its way back out. Someone wants more money than what the women found in that storage unit, and they're willing to make sure they get it.
Every action has a reaction.
Will the money become the root of all evil for their friendship? And if using it could save someone you love, does that make taking it excusable? Then there's the body. Will their decision not to report it come back to haunt every decision they make?
Huntley writes Mel, Liv, and Jennie as ordinary, everyday people with ordinary, everyday problems. That makes them relatable, but also flawed. When desperation kicks in, however, their individuality really begins to show.
Mel carries the guilt of getting her friends involved in the mess her mum left behind. She's the easily swayed, somewhat insecure friend who genuinely wants what is best for everyone, even when she isn't entirely sure what that looks like.
Liv is something else altogether. Thirty-five and still living under her parents' roof, she's completely supported by them and seems to have few cares in the world, other than dealing with a demanding and controlling father. At times, she feels more like a rebellious fifteen-year-old than a thirty-five-year-old woman trying to navigate adult life.
Then there's Jennie, the quintessential housewife and mom. Her family is her focus and, in the long run, her first priority, even when her husband makes a spectacular mess of their lives.
The dynamic between Mel, Liv, and Jennie, with the same secret pulling three very different women in three very different directions, is where Huntley shines. One clings tighter, one starts to buckle, and one turns cold and calculating. The distrust among the trio draws readers in until you're questioning everyone.
Sideways glances. Phones held a little too close. The mid-conversation pause when someone enters the room.
The paranoia transforms the humble, neighborly trio we met in the beginning into desperate, scheming strangers.
If I have one fault in the stars with Finders Keepers, it's the lack of character building. I never felt a strong enough connection to any one character to become truly loyal to them throughout their struggles. But, and this is a big but, the emotional spine of three women watching their friendship slowly die absolutely landed for me.
Huntley heard the call and nailed that part.
The writing is fast, sharp, and chilling. Huntley uses short chapters with little fluff, keeping the action moving and the tension building. The pacing kept me engaged because I would think, "Okay, I'm going to take a break," only to reach the end of a chapter and say, "Wait, what's next?" Then I'd find myself reading another three or four chapters before finally forcing myself to stop and tend to whatever actually needed doing.
The dual timeline and multiple POVs keep the atmosphere claustrophobic, tense, and thick with dread, as though you're simply waiting for the door to slam shut.
I do wish the ending had given me a little more resolution, but that's a personal preference and certainly won't be a deal-breaker for every reader.
Finders Keepers releases September 27, 2026, so mark your calendar, or just pre-order now, for a tight, twisty, morally messy thriller that will make you question yourself.
What would you do if you found £100,000?
And don't forget about the body hanging out in the trunk, too!

This started with the same pace and intrigue I’ve come to expect from Jessica Huntley, so I was immediately invested and read this in one sitting.
Mel, Liv and Jennie are best friends and business partners, but they all have their own problems. It’s always a good read when you have a moral dilemma at its heart - with deadly consequences.
Much of the story centred around people who were no longer here to tell their story, so I really enjoyed the diary entries which gave another perspective and helped piece together what had happened.
I also loved watching the friendship between the women change as the pressure mounted. The trio of friends begin completely united, but money, fear and the secrets they’re keeping soon make it difficult to know who they can trust.
Finders Keepers was a quick read with plenty happening - yet another enjoyable Jessica Huntley thriller.

Finders Keepers
losers weepers
by Jessica Huntley
Jessica Huntley is truly a master at psychological thrillers; Finders Keepers is no exception. An incredibly suspenseful, fast-paced, and intense thriller with a shocking, unexpected twist that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This is compulsive reading, I just did not want to put this one down.
Mel, Liv, and Jenni have been the best of friends forever, and are there for each other whatever. When Mel's mum dies and she's sorting through her house, she finds some keys for a storage unit. With her two friends, they go to the unit and search it, and they are shocked to find more than £100,000 and a body in a trunk.
After some debate, they all decide to keep the money, as they desperately need it, and say nothing about the body and figure a way to dispose of it.
As they feel they can get their lives and financial issues settled, they start receiving threatening messages, it seems someone knows what they found, someone had followed and seen them, and now threatening their lives if they don't hand over the money,
The trouble is some of the money is gone, and the three friends are getting desperate and start bickering, pointing accusing fingers at each other, as the secrets and lies increase. The trust has been lost, and the three women and their families are in danger.
Jessica has once again presented an absolutely outstanding psychological chilling and gripping thriller. Incredibly portrayed characters in amazing settings that had me completely hooked.
