Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.
At least, he's not a beast all the time.
As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin-and his world-forever.
From bestselling author Sarah J. Maas comes a seductive, breathtaking book that blends romance, adventure, and faerie lore into an unforgettable read.

A Court of Thorns and Roses had all the ingredients I usually love—fantasy, romance, danger—but for me, it landed somewhere in the middle.
The world-building was intriguing, and I appreciated the darker, fairy-tale vibe woven throughout the story. Feyre’s journey had its moments, especially as the stakes started to rise toward the end. That last portion definitely picked up and kept me turning pages.
That said, the pacing felt uneven. The first half dragged a bit, and I found it hard to fully connect with the characters early on. The romance also didn’t completely pull me in the way I was expecting—it had potential, but something just didn’t click for me emotionally.
Overall, I can see why so many readers love this series, and I’m curious enough to see where the story goes next. It just didn’t fully sweep me away this time.
✨ Perfect for readers who enjoy slow-burn fantasy with a darker edge and are willing to stick it out for a stronger second half.
