The Socialite Murder (The Resident Thriller Series)

Their perfect life is a perfect lie…

It’s been three years since Dr. Kylie Saunders came face-to-face with her friend’s killer, and Dr. Blake Weathers saved her life. Though the past may be behind them, what happened between Kylie and Blake remains unfinished.

When Kylie and Blake are invited to the Hamptons by their mutual friend, the vacation offers everyone a chance for a fresh start.

But Kylie isn't arriving alone. Her new boyfriend, Danny, is joining them, and as tensions flare between Danny and Blake, so too does Kylie's unease about the couple next door, Celeste and Roland Greer.

Socialite Celeste appears to have it all—limitless money, beautiful looks, and a powerful husband—until Kylie witnesses a concerning confrontation between them, and the veneer of their perfect life cracks.

By morning, the couple is dead. And the closer Kylie gets to the truth, the harder someone tries to keep it buried.

But in the Hamptons, nothing stays a secret for long.
*Please note that it is best to read The Resident Murder before The Socialite Murder as there are spoilers in The Socialite Murder.

I loved getting back into this world and seeing familiar faces from the first book — there’s something so satisfying about an author building out a series where the characters actually feel like they’re growing and the story keeps evolving. The premise here had me hooked from the jump, and I was fully invested in where it was heading.

But the ending… it just didn’t deliver. So many threads were left dangling that I found myself flipping back thinking “wait, did I miss something?” It genuinely felt like the story got rushed to the finish line instead of actually being resolved. I wanted answers and instead got a handful of loose ends.

It’s frustrating because the bones of a great thriller are all here — I just needed the ending to match the buildup. Still curious enough about this world to see where it goes next, but this one left me wanting more (and not in the good way).
