Most people spend Halloween carving pumpkins and chasing candy—I’ll be spending mine hunting a serial killer who made the mistake of targeting me.

Niagara Falls on Halloween is a chaotic neon blur of tourists, haunted attractions, and people looking for a good scare. My assignment is considerably less festive. Jane has sent me after Caleb Ward, a rogue assassin who’s been murdering women who look like me. The authorities think they’re dealing with a phantom serial killer. They have no idea who they’re really hunting—or how close he is to his next victim.

The job takes a nasty turn at an upmarket bar, and suddenly, I have bigger problems than putting a bullet in Caleb Ward. I’m not having a particularly good Halloween, and things are about to get considerably worse.
