What Have You Done?
A Novel
AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!
Dark · Addictive · Twisty · Chilling · Domestic Suspense
“Lapena is a master of manipulation.” —USA Today
The new unputdownable novel from the “queen of the one-sit read,” and New York Times bestselling author of The Couple Next Door
Nothing ever happens in sleepy little Fairhill, Vermont. But this morning that will change. And one innocent question could be deadly. What have you done?
The teenagers get their kicks telling ghost stories in the old graveyard. The parents trust their kids will arrive home safe from school. Everyone knows everyone. Curtains rarely twitch. Front doors are left unlocked.
But Diana Brewer isn’t lying safely in her bed where she belongs. Instead she lies in a hayfield, circled by vultures, discovered by a local farmer.
How quickly a girl becomes a ghost. How quickly a town of friendly, familiar faces becomes a town of suspects, a place of fear and paranoia.
Someone in Fairhill did this. Everyone wants answers.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: What Have You Done? by Shari Lapena
📖 Book Description:
Nothing ever happens in sleepy little Fairhill, Vermont—until the body of Diana Brewer is found in a hayfield, surrounded by vultures. What was once a quiet, trusting town quickly becomes a place of suspicion and fear. As everyone begins to look over their shoulder, it becomes clear: someone in Fairhill did this. And no one is above suspicion.
💭 My Thoughts:
Shari Lapena is always great at drawing you into a story quickly, and What Have You Done? was no exception. I really enjoyed the small-town setting where everyone knows each other—until suddenly, no one feels safe. The whodunit aspect kept me on edge, and I appreciated the multiple perspectives, which added depth and kept the tension going.
While I did figure things out a bit earlier than I expected, the journey getting there was still enjoyable. There were quite a few characters and storylines to follow, but I liked seeing how it all intertwined. It wasn’t the most twist-filled thriller I’ve read, but the writing was engaging and the atmosphere pulled me in.
If you enjoy character-driven mysteries with a touch of small-town paranoia, this one’s worth a spot on your TBR!
