The Visitor

Cooper Williams is frustrated with her life as she leaves visiting day at the Magnolia Grove Psychiatric Hospital. She’s discouraged by the lack of progress she had during the visit with her mother and angry that her younger brother, Carter, didn’t show up yet again. As she leaves the visit, she drives through a snowstorm that leaves her stranded outside an abandoned farmhouse. But the farmhouse is not abandoned. It is occupied by the handsome and mysterious Xander who offers her shelter as she waits for the storm to pass. But Cooper feels there’s something off about charming Xander and this house. She dismisses her fears as paranoia until she wakes up one night to her childhood best friend outside her window beckoning for help. Cooper will need to pull together the missing pieces of her past and make connections to her present if she wants to survive the visit.

Brilliant book
If you are someone, like me, who loves a book that makes your brain all twisted and you feel crazy, you have found the right book. The multiple timeline helps with telling the story, giving you doubts about what's real and imagined. Don't worry it's easy to keep the timelines straight. Krissy Webb does a fabulous job intertwining the paths leading up to the big reveal. Believe me your jaw is going to drop multiple times during the whole story.
You learn a lot about Cooper, the female main character, present day and her past. She has a lot on her plate. Her past has been shoved back into a box and locked away. She forced to confront her traumas. Cooper is strong and smart, although she has many doubts within herself.
I loved the way this how plot had me questioning everything. It had my mind spinning. The book dig into my head and I couldn't put it down. The way Krissy puts the pieces of the puzzles together carefully laying it out is mind blowing. I'm so shocked about the ending. The whole story is absolutely brilliant!
