⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Summer of ’99 by JL Hyde
Five stars wasn’t enough. This book deserves SIX because HOW does she always do this to me?!
JL Hyde has this unreal ability to hook you from the very first chapter, refuse to let you breathe, and somehow still make the twist something you never see coming. I was glued. Completely incapable of stopping. Convinced I had it figured out… and then BAM — jaw on the floor, staring into space, questioning everything I just listened to.
Her writing is sharp, addictive, and perfectly paced. Every chapter pulls you deeper, every character feels layered and suspicious, and the payoff at the end? Chef’s kiss. Shocking in the best possible way.
At this point, reading a JL Hyde thriller means I expect to be emotionally wrecked — and she still manages to exceed that expectation every single time.
Underrated queen of twists.

Forever obsessed. 🖤
