I absolutely freaking loved this book from start to finish! I was hooked from the beginning and honestly never wanted to put it down.
The characters are hilarious and the banter is even better! I loved the mix of gods, demons, weird animals and all the different beasts. It’s definitely something I haven’t read before, but I really enjoyed the whole supernatural world Valerie has created.
And Macula the hellhound… I WANT ONE NOW 😂
I absolutely loved Izzy and Areal together. Their relationship was so cute, funny and definitely saucy! I loved watching their story develop and the two of them together just worked so well.
There were so many twists and turns that I genuinely had no idea what was going to happen next, which kept me completely hooked. Every time I thought I had things figured out, something else happened!
I was given a free copy of this book to review and I honestly loved every second of it. I’ve already read one of Valerie Willis’ books and this one was just as much fun, if not more!
Now I just need book 2!!

I really enjoyed the combination of paranormal romance, humor, magic, and supernatural mystery throughout the story.
Isobel is an entertaining protagonist with a strong personality, and her journey of discovering that she is far more powerful than she believed is compelling.
The chemistry between Isobel and Arael is one of the strongest aspects of the book, with plenty of humor, tension, and emotional connection.
Arael's character is also interesting because his confident and powerful exterior contrasts with his vulnerability and guilt.
Macula adds a fun and unusual element to the story while also helping strengthen the connection between Isobel and Arael.
The supernatural world is imaginative and expansive, with plenty of potential for future stories.
At times, however, the amount of worldbuilding and supernatural information can feel overwhelming, so introducing some details more gradually could improve the pacing.
Some romantic and sexual moments feel repetitive, and giving more space to quieter emotional moments could make the relationship feel even deeper.
I would also recommend giving Arael clearer limitations and allowing Isobel to take more active control of her growing powers and decisions.
Overall, this is an entertaining and imaginative paranormal romance with strong character chemistry, a unique premise, and plenty of potential for a larger series.
