Wow just wow!! The characters, theme, and the lingering fear creates a spine tingling suspenseful read. The atmosphere has a presence that carefully watches and waits. The unease shifts just enough to be noticed. The killer is sharp and cunning. They sit half shadowed giving just enough visibility to disquiet their targets lives.
I loved the tension and unease that flowed through the pages. Michelle gave just enough to have you questioning things. The clues pointed to any of the characters. Powers keeps you guessing right down to the last pages. Character development is done very well. You get who each character is. I really liked Zoey, the main character. She exudes confidence in public eye yet seems to be humble in her success. She's smart which gives her an advantage to be ready for anything. Always keeping an eye out and listens to her gut instincts.
Number One far exceeded what I was expecting. Everything put together gives a whole true experience of a psychological thriller.
Thank you Michelle Powers and Netgalley for allowing me to ARc read for my honest review.
