This book pulled me in from the very first page with its chilling premise: a missing friend, a crumbling estate, and a note that sets the stage for secrets long buried. The tension builds with every locked door, every unsettling memory, and every twist that ties the trio’s fractured past to the present.
Mara is a compelling narrator, and the strained dynamic between her, Jodie, and the unseen presence of Elise adds so much depth to the story. I loved how the house itself felt like a character—claustrophobic, haunting, and filled with echoes of things left unsaid.
While I guessed one of the reveals before the end, the journey there kept me hooked, and the atmosphere was so immersive I could practically feel the walls closing in. If you love friendship dramas wrapped in mystery and ghostly unease, this one will keep you turning the pages late into the night.
