Intense and haunting book!! This domestic thriller is amazing! I was hooked from page 1 and did not stop listening!! This story is filled with darkness, twists, suspense, and lots of emotions!!

The life that Steph has led has been a roller coaster filled with trauma, happiness and mental illness. As a young child, Steph was exposed to horrific events that she had to endure and become a survivor.

The book is very well written and the character development is thorough. It’s a very powerful and deep story!

I listened to the audio version and the narrator did an excellent job! I loved listening to the story!

I highly recommend this emotional and intense read or listen!!

have a lot of issues with this book. First, the structure of the novel was drawn out and could have benefited from telling the story in a different way oppose to doing a linear story line of the main characters life. Secondly, the authors choice for explanation of the FMCs second institutionalization after the big event made me roll my eyes. (the data shows 0.47% chance and usually in younger males) I don't like this because it feels like fear mongering when there were several practical reasons for her to break and benefits to what the author is attempting to paint as dangerous. The explanation of her husbands history with the MC fell flat and could have been developed more, the same with her childhood. I guessed the story was going to end the way it did based on the title. Speaking of titles, the part after the semi colon is unnecessary at makes it harder to find on reviewers sites.

I would still read other books by this author to see if the issues are just in this book or in others as well. There were definitely decent parts but I was left feeling irritated.

Meh read.

This book completely gripped me from the first page. A powerful and emotional story that explores childhood trauma and schizophrenia in a way that felt raw, heartbreaking, and incredibly real. I could not put it down until I knew how it ended.

Danielle Fear did an amazing job crafting a story that pulls at your emotions while keeping you fully invested in the characters and their journey. Beautifully written, thought-provoking, and unforgettable. An absolutely fantastic read. 📚🖤✨
