3⭐ Review — The Cove by LJ Ross
This one had so much potential. I love a twisty whodunit that keeps you side-eyeing every single character, and this definitely started off strong in that regard.
The setting on the Cove was atmospheric and immersive—it really pulled me in and set the tone perfectly. The characters also felt exactly like what you’d expect for this kind of story, which made it easy to settle into the mystery.
But unfortunately, the plot became pretty predictable as it went on. The closer I got to the end, the more rushed everything felt, and it took away from what could have been a really impactful finale.
I finished this one feeling disappointed because it could have been so good… but in the end, it just didn’t quite hit for me.
