At the heart of the story are Juliette and Dylan, two characters who are immediately drawn together, which makes a spicy and compelling story from the start. Juliette, in particular, stands out. I appreciated how Leyna brought in her own disability as a storyline for the main character, which was something I’d never heard of before. Juliette’s dyspraxia is not treated as a gimmick or a passing trait as Leyna thoughtfully wove it into the narrative, allowing readers to understand her experiences organically. As Dylan comes to learn about her condition, so do we, which creates a natural, empathetic progression that deepens their connection and the reader’s investment.
This is a great romantic suspense full of spice, with an alpha-male firefighter lead!

Leyna also captures Dylan’s fiercely protective nature with care, total Alpha male. His instinct to shield Juliette is loving, sometimes a bit too strong and overwhelming, and she uses that tension to explore how support and autonomy can coexist. The romance stays gentle and grounded, with just enough spice woven in to give their connection heat without overshadowing the emotional core.
It’s a wonderful start to the series, and I’m genuinely excited for the next book coming soon.
