“<p>OMG the banter in this book was absolutely top tier and the cliffhanger………hell, that just left me buffering for days!</p><p></p><p>I loved that this story has a different twist on supernatural/human society that places witches at the bottom of the hierarchy yet humanises their experience due to restrictions placed on them in society for being witches. The first part of this story feels more like starting at a breaking point, with not much history or backstory to contextualise the full struggle of the FMC, but that does not detract from storyline in fact it adds to the mystery and urges you to keep reading. </p><p></p><p>The FMC, Evie, is so relatable on so many levels that you can’t help feeling every emotion with her and when the MMC, Belzareth, enters the story that just ratchets up the angst even more, especially when it’s packaged in the form of a smoking home demon prince. </p><p></p><p>This story is definitely multi-layered and I can’t wait to read the next part, it’s like watching your favourite show and waiting for the next reveal in season 2. </p>”

The lore is so well written and fleshed out, that I had to double check that this wasn't based on some REAL legend. </p><p>A really fantastic read! “<p>Where to begin? I was granted a copy of this novel by the author. I love a good spooky story and was excited to dive in. This novel far exceeded my expectations. The five main characters were funny and so relatable. We all had a friend like one of them in high school. The book gave IT vibes in all the best ways. The town of Blackshore is haunted or cursed, heck maybe even both. Every summer, children disappear. Stories of an evil pirate captain are common knowledge, and the high school even teaches a class about the folklore, missing children, and theories. </p><p>When Autumn disappears, her boyfriend Jesse and bandmates Jamie, Tanner, Noah, and Felix are desperate to find her. For days, she is trapped in the bowels of the caves, living through hell, and even when free, life doesn't go back to normal. Once the tide calls your name, that is it. All are seeing and hearing things that aren't there. Friendships are tested, relationships are put to the test, and not everyone may get a happy ending. I, for one, can not wait to dive back into Blackshore, but I won't be answering back if I hear the tide call my name.</p><p>This book is perfect for lovers of horror and ghost stories!</p>”
